"Another repairman from another company told me I needed a new furnace and it must be as old as the house (100 years). However, I called this company and the repairman told me I could get a new furnace or I could let him try to diagnose it. I chose the diagnosis and he found that I needed a new water pump for the furnace and he thought the furnace might last a few more years. Good news! He installed the water pump and also advised me about the kind of filter to get (the least expensive would actually work better!). After 2-3 hours, I had a working furnace! "We were told by another company that the motor of the AC unit was broken, and we needed to spend $6000 to replace the whole system. Needless to say, most people don't have $6000 lying around and it felt pretty hectic, to say the least. But I decided to get a second opinion and thankfully I did. The tech from Elmar was extremely professional, thorough, and took his time to diagnose and help us fix the problem. It turned out that it was an electrical problem and the problem with the thermostat itself. The tech installs the new one in the system seem to be working fine. "Salesperson was helpful and very informative. The suggested product was of greater capacity than another contractor recommended in order to meet actual space and need, and unit installation was recommended to be off the ground to avoid snow (another contractor was placing on typical HVAC concrete pad). Good suggestions! The installation team was thorough and professional. We have not yet had cold weather to test heating capability; however, the air conditioning has worked well. The warranty seems comprehensive to cover any issues. The office followed up with appointment reminders and paperwork via email on a timely basis.
